Epox 8KTA3PRO m/b
Athlon 700 cpu
384 M/Ram
32 Mb Nvidia Riva TNT graphics
DV Action video capture card
Creative S/B Live card
40 Gb + 10 Gb HDD’s
Pioneer DVD-116
Acer CD-RW 8x4x32.
My problem came about when I installed the CD-RW. Previous to this install everything worked great. After the install, while the CD-RW and the DVD were detected I couldn’t get any DVD’d to play, my WinDVD software will not accept that a DVD is in the drive.
I originally had the DVD as master and the CD-RW as slave. I tried reversing them, I tried placing the jumpers on cable select, but always the same problem. When I unplug either drive, they work fine by themselves.
My questions are – Is there any known compatibility problems between the Pioneer DVD and the Acer CD-RW? Or is there a known problem within the structure of the Epox m/b and any part of the setup I have?
