DVD region code

I got a compaq drd8120b DVD-ROM. But everytime I try to play a DVD, it doesn’t work and display a message:”Wrong region code” .
How to reset the region code that correspond to that of mine? (It had been mistakenly reset over the limited no. of time). Thanks a lot !
