i have installed a pioneer dvd rom dvd-115 which is supposed to be 40x read speed. I wish to use it to send data for ‘on the fly’ copies of my own music composition discs to my Aopen cd writer. However trying 3 different cd writing products all report a reading of 1x max speed on audio extraction. My 32x (read) Aopen writer reports 32x max in the same tests. Any ideas?
My other problem is that Nero burn 5 reports that ‘It looks like both your source and your destination drive for ‘on the fly’copy process are connected to the same ide bus.
We strongly recommend to connect your source and destination drives to different ide busses.
This is because an ide bus cannot handle interleaved read and write commands. This will reduce data transfer rate during ‘on the fly’ copies and will therefore cause a buffer underun error’.
How do I rectify this, is it just swapping the data cable from one of the drives onto a secondary bus interface and if so which one?
Please help
