I asked a question earlier regarding whether DVI output on a graphics card produces better image quality on a Flat Panel LCD monitor.
I was told:
the video signal is not converted to the SVGA signal, and then to the DVI signal required by the LCD.The fewer conversions, the less chance for signal degradation; thus, better image quality.
Well, we have a Dell 15″ Flat Panel Display and are using the DVI out on the graphics card. The image quality is not as good as a CRT. I can see separations between the lines in individual letters – so I guess it’s pixelated. The display on a laptop looks the best and a CRT looks better and the DVI/Flat Panel looks bad. Please tell me if you think it could be a setting I am missing, or perhaps the quality of the flat panel.
Thanks
