Email/internet connection

I was coaxed into trying to upgrade a friends computer’s modem and I messed up somewhere. I put his modem back in and this is what happens.

Use DUN to dial out. It connects to ISP OK.

Try to access email and it can’t find the server.

Try to connect to the internet and it can’t find anything.

Try pinging different sites and I get intermittent results (about 90% failure…it’s that 10% success that gives me hope)

I reloaded TCP and modem.

Gateway 2000 w 16mb of RAM, w95 (v4.00.950) and IE5 (v5.00.2314.1003). His comment is “It worked before I gave it to you…”
