I have a silly but very serious question regarding employment in the IT profession, I am hoping you could help me.
I currently am employed as a Full time Firefighter/Paramedic working 1 (24 hour) shift on; 2 off; 1 on and then 4 off. As you can see I have ample time off to pursue the IT profession (which is a hobby of mine and something I enjoy) either part-time, nights, evenings, all sort of hours, contract based, consulting or even 20-40 hours if needed. I could never leave the excitement and fun of the Fire Service (such an Adrenalin rush!) to switch into the IT profession Full-Time, the Fire service has great benefits (long term retirement, death benifits, plus it is a great PR job and is always different) I figure that with my schedule I should have no problem finding a job as a Network administrator, help desk or something along my lines once I graduate in 3 years with a BA in Computer Information Technology (MCSE, CNA, or CNE, with A+ and Cisco Systems) I just hate to spend alot of money in another degree and not be able to use it. Your thoughts if possible?
