One of the departments at the company I work for uses Epson DFX printers pretty heavily. Most of the PCs in this area are still running Win95 for one simple reason. When we install Win98 and try to print to one of the DFX printers, the text looks like you’ve set the printer to condensed mode or something. I even set up 2 PCs side by side (one with 95, one with 98) and noticed the difference even on the Windows Test Page. We’ve tried copying the DLLs from 95 to 98 that the test page makes reference to, using different Epson drivers (FX1050, FX880, etc), and used the generic/text driver. The generic/text driver came the closest but it doesn’t work well for all of the programs that need to print to these printers. Has anyone seen this issue before? Know of any solutions??
Thanks in advance.
