Excel lock-ups and errors

by gojonah . Updated 25 years, 9 months ago

We are experiencing many application errors while using Excel from Office
2000 and files that will return the message “locked for editing” by “user
name” that is the user name that is the current user. Sometimes those files
can be re-accessed after re-booting the machine and sometimes the files are
rendered unrecoverable after the lock out. Each machine that it has
occurred on is using Windows 98 and Office 2000 running on Pentium II
processors with 64 meg. All machines are connected toa Novell network,
however it does not matter if the files are located on the server or on the
PC’s C drive, the results are the same. I have been watching for
similar problems in your techmail, etc and haven’t seen this come up. Does
anyone have any suggestions.
