Extend Home Network – cable type/length

by beoweolf . Updated 24 years, 4 months ago

A client needs to extend his home network from his house to a “cottage” a distance of about 200-300 feet. What is the best and/or cheapest way to provide an acceptable signal for his W2K/NT network? Part of the distance is exposed (outside). I was thinking RJ45 connected to ethernet cards…or will I have to run Cat5, is a repeater needed?
