External Zip drive locks up the computer

When installing a new Zip100 drive, parallel port hookup, the computer will freeze while loading Windows 95. Further investigation has revealed a software conflict with a Windows driver connected to the parallel port. Now, how do I replace the driver, or find a way around it?
