I have a problem with a new system I am trying to setup. The system configuration is as follows.

Dual processor based (PIII 600Mhz 512).
0.5Gb Ram
Deskstar 20.5Gb UDMA66 IBM file
Aopen 48x IDE CD-Rom
Creative labs Annihilator Pro graphics card
Iiyama 22” display

Motherboard is a supermicro GX chipset P6DGU

So far I have formatted the drive using win95 startup diskette. For full 20.5Gb FAT format. Install CD-Rom and re-boot. Install Win98 2nd edition and start to install.
I have used typical installation each time.

Various anomalies keep coming up. The final fault is usually when the system is configuring plug and play devices. The system hangs after a “Fatal Exception fault” (e.g. 0E at 0028:c0031dac during setup of hardware).

After power on reset, because system has totally locked up the system comes up with power up screen where you can select “safe mode, command prompt, etc…”. The command prompt is highlighted and statement declaring that
