fitting a new motherboard

Hello everyone, I have fitted a new motherboard to my system (win 98se) and now I get a blue screen saying some devices are trying to use real mode drivers and the multi-functional devices and child devices are 32 bit mode, I continue and cannot getmy cd rom to work to install the IDE drivers ect. what’s the safest, easyist way to fit a new motherboard with an existing hard drive. sorry for the length of this question.
