Floppy Disk Error

On a Win98 System I receive the message “Incorrect Drive A Type” at boot up.
The system does not recognize the drive and the drive light is constantly lit. This drive was recently replaced.

Could the drive be bad? Or was it installed improperly?

Anybody have any ideas?
