Floppy Diskette

I have a problem, I just bought a new Acer computer, Pentium III, Windows 2000 professional. When I try to open my old floppy, it will say, ” cannot read from the disk, disk may not be formated.” But if I try to open in other Win 98 or Win 95, it opens. What could be wrong?
