Floppy Light On

I’ve just built a new computer and moved a new floppy drive (purchased a month ago) from the old computer to the new one. Cabled it up. Turned on the new system and everything worked except the floppy. It grinned at me with the light on and a “floppy drive failure” message on the screen.

I re-checked all connectors and cables without success. Does anyone have any suggestions?
