Formatting a hard disk which has NTFS

I run windows XP pro on my system. I had a problem so I reinstalled the XP to correct it. However on boot up I am always presented with 3 XP
installations to choose from. This might sound like I have 3 partitions on my hard disk, but this is not the case. I only have one hard disk and I have checked through C: on my computer and there is only one windows folder.

Can somebody out there help me to correct the problem or to format the hard disk since XP is not allowing me to do so?
