I have a customer that has cable broadband on there pc. They have a Gateway Essential running W ME. The problem is that there internet connection does not always work. They go to use it one day it works, the next it does not. They have been on the phone with Gateway techs and the local cable techs and still it is sporatic. I noticed in Device Manager that this BCM HPNA 10mbps nic is listed. There is no physical nic in the machine to match this one. There is another one that the cable modemplugs into and I can id it. I went to Gateways site and found that this BCM HPNA is a phone network combo card with the modem. I want to uninstall it and not have it reinstall. Also has anyone heard of a fix for this problem. I am not sure if this is the problem but it s a good place to start.
