getting cd-rom to work in IBM dockII

one of my user’s is triing to get his 755c
thinkppad to work on a dockII with a newer
btc 44x cd-rom.it is running w95b , when put in the dock the cd comes up as audio . have tried an older scsi with same results .
bios has been flashed to latestrev .
