graphics probs on new m/b

Ok I just purchased a Epox 8KHA+ motherboard, 256mb of pc2100 ddr ram and a athlon xp 1800+ i installed the components in my pc and am now experiencing a graphics problem where the screen stops refreshing and the graphics do not leave the screen ie:open the start menu and click away to close and the image stays. The graphics card is a geforce2 mx 32mb using the latest detonator drivers and i have a 300watt power supply the system runs at around 38 degrees c and i have all the latest drivers for my chipset and components. i have tested the card and monitor in another pc using diagnostics. and no problems occured and i am frankly quite baffled by the prob any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
