Hard drive crash?

Had a perfectly good working PC yesterday. (Win2000Pro, Athlon 850, 128mb ram)

Tried to hook up a portable CD-RW. Installed the software, plugged into the USB port and it is supposed to assign a drive to it automatically..but everything just froze. I tried it a couple of more times, and now.. (btw..it worked perfectly fine on my laptop)

Now it won’t boot. No POST, nada nothing…did I fry my hard drive?
