hard drive not working

I have a pentium computer which cant detect its
hard drive. i cant format the disk or use the fdisk from my start-up disk. The error is “fixed disk not present!!!Sometimes i even cant see anything on my sreen.The monitor get the current
through the system.harddisk cable is well attached.harddisk is working properly in another computer.Any conclusion???
