hard drive partitioning

I have an 8GB hard drive. The drive was used as a second drive in a alternative pc and configured as a extended partition. problem is I have now fitted this drive in another pc as an only drive. When I try to use FDISK to set the partition to primary it tells me it cannot delete extended dos partition while logical drives exist.There are no logical drives to delete. I cannot create a primary partition or anything else. Help!
