How do I get my Creative DVD 5x player t

I have tried serval times to install the MPEG2 decoder and it will not install right. Keeps coming up with an error: Says I am not running Win95. I am running Win98 and it was installed when I bought the computer but I had to format the HD due to a virus.How do I get the decoder and the drivers loaded to get this to work right?
It is a Creative PC-DVD Player. The stuff wont load from the CD that came with it either.
