bought an old compac deskpro W/win98, started messing w/ it and formated the hard drive and the fat32 partition, i would like to install win95 in it, mainly because i have the cd. and i did not get a win98 cd when i bought the computer i know the hard drive is 2 gig. i think that when i formated the hard drive, i also took DOS out, now when i boot w/ a win95 disc i get the message “no operating system”. my first computer was a packard bell and i have a DOS4.0 from that computer, could i install that in the compac? well any help you guys can give me would be greatly apreciated, some body told me it can be done, but they want to charge me $100. to do it, i only payd 30 for the computer, so you can see my dilema. thanks, richard(computer nerd wannabe) ps. its been a good learning experience, frustrating but fun at the same time.
