How to connect SCSI device to laptop

Does anyone know how to connect a Cannon FS 2710 film scanner to an HP OmniBook 6000 laptop with USB port running W98 with no SCSI connector and no room in the laptop to install the SCSI card Cannon supply for a desktop PC?
