How to enable multiple monitors

I have a nagging feeling, that I am not the only person with this problem. I had purchased the ATI 8500 All in Wonder, now it is suppsed to offer multiple monitors. How the blazes do you enable the feature? I have tried many solutions with no results including a tech supprt from the site with little results.
