How to Fix Problems Using WindowsME

I put togeather a new system for me and I am having several problems. First, let me tell you what I have, M810LR motherboard, 1.4GHz AMD K-7 CPU, and 768MB of SDRAM PC133 memory, an AMR modem and using Windows ME. I cannot seem to get rid of a conflict on the devices page for motherboard extention for PNP BIOS, plus I am having memory leak problems now that when I use 512MB of memory were not there, and finally, when I go on the net to play games I am losing connection with server every time an intermission comes up, I was told to switch the modem to COM 4, but I can’t remember how and can’t find the answer in my notes. HELP PLEASE!! I am A+ certified but still at the entry level.
