How to install a new graphic card ?

I would like to know how to instal an 8 mb graphic accelrator into my m571 motherboard(PCHIPS) which has an onboard vga, I have tried disabling the onboard vga with the motherboard’s jumpers(J3) but it gives an error during the POST.
