HP Laserjet III & Windows ME

Maybe I have missed something, but I have had TREMENDOUS PROBLEMS with my HP Laserjet III and Millenium. It worked fine when I installed ME over 98. Then I re-installed ME clean and since that time I have not been able to get my HP III to run properly. I also have a Deskjet 932C on a USB port — the upgrade on that was incredibly difficult even for HP tech support. I wonder if in that process my HPIII running on LPT1 is screwed up for some reason. Support for the Laserjet is no longer available from HP.. Sad to say. Support for the 932 required a 45 minute phone call. Why they wouldn’t at least share what they know is beyond me.
