HP LJ 5

I have a HP LJ 5 printer that powers up to the point of ‘initializing’ being displayed on the display. It stops at this point. I have disconnected from computer and cycled power, but this did not help. I have reseated the simm, power up with cable disconnected. Still the same. The printer was working, until such time that I powered off the printer to re-route the cable. After this it would not completely power up.

This printer was connected at one time as a serial printer, but I switched it over to parallel now.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
