HP Omnibook XE2 Password Removal

I have an Omnibook XE2 in my shop that needs the BIOS password removed. HP will not tell me how to do this without the original sales reciept, but the customer bought it second hand out of the newspaper. I have completely disassembled the laptop and am unable to locate the CMOS battery!
