HP prints slow in Word. (WinMe)

New Dell 4200 with WinMe (I know..Me) When printing from Word (Office 2000) the print jobs are slowwwww. It prints slow most of the time but occasionally it will print OK. I have tried new drivers (HP) and still NG. Any suggestions? Thanks
