IE 4.0 Connection Troubles

by qhcomputingny . Updated 25 years, 6 months ago

Hello,
We have a desktop here in the office that has IE 4.0 and it doesn’t seem to want to be able to connect to the internet. I have gone through all the options to set up the connection through the modem (dial-up)and made sure it wasn’t set to aLAN connection. I checked all the DUN properties and those are ok. Just anytime you run Explorer (after it has already connected to the internet and you see the two computers in the taskbar showing the transfer of information ) it says it cannot reach the server, but it seems as though it doesn’t even take a long enough time to try. This seems very menial but I don’t want to have to go through the hassle of re installing the operating system. IE 4.0 is still a good browser to use, right? Ihave upgraded almost everyone in the office to 5.0 and above and they are ok. This was one of the last ones that we haven’t upgraded yet. Any suggestions?
