IE 5.5 error

Hi:
I’m running a system with Windows ME, Office 2000, and IE 5.5. My problem is that Explorer keeps crashing an is always in one of these three situations:
1- when I’m trying to type in the Address bar (this is the most common one)
2- when I’m typing in a box in the window
3- when I’m writing online e-mail in Hotmail
In all three cases the message is always
‘IExplore has caused an error in module USER.EXE’…Any suggestions? Thanks
