IE unable to find netwrk after upgrd 6.0

Needed to upgrade IE on a windows 98
machine, User had AOL 4.0 but didn’t 128
bit SSL. AFter I upgraded to IE 6.0, dial in
with AOL & it worked fine, opened up IE &
was unable to find intenet connection.
Resetup through internet wizard butstill
get the same message of “unable to find
network connection” Any suggestions?
Machine has 56K modem with dial up to
AOL(upgraded AOL to 5.0
