Import/export mail

I recently vought a larger hard drive for my pc.
I backed up all the files including mail messages and address book (by exporting them to a cd). I had WIN ME and loaded XP on the new hard drive. When I try to import the messages and address book it comes up with errors saying it cant find files.
Please help.
