Inaccessible D:\ partition

We were recently attacked by an unknown Virus which re-installed WindowsNT server overwriting the existing \WINNT directory.
After that, the D:\ partition which contains all important data files is now seen in the Disk Administrator as FREE SPACE.
Is there a way to recover the files in the D:\ partition?
