Inernet Explorer 5.5 and 6.0 issues

by modijayesh01 . Updated 24 years, 3 months ago

Some PCs are upgraded to IE 5.5 or IE 6.0.
If it is corrupted, you can not uninstall from control panel >> add or remove programs.

Reinstallation does not resolve issue. If you try to install lower version, it gives errror like as “higher version is already running, first uninstall it”.

I have used Technet article how to manually uninstall IE. I have created very long batch file and tested but that did not helped me. Do not post any URL from Microsoft.

The way I am fixing this problem is delete IE directory. remove all entries of IE from registry. Restart PC. Install IE 5 and then upgrade to IE 5.5

I have tried many utlities for uninstallation but none of them are working. If anybody have idea for tested and trusted uninstallation utility, I will appreciate to know it. Or how to resolve above issue.

Thanks in advance for help.
