I am trying to install a driver for a HP 4550n LaserJet. The driver I want to install will provide a direct network connection. Each time I run the installation program, the printer is found but then an installation message appears tellingme that “Printer configuration does not match computer’s settings”. I have serached the documentation that came with the printer, and have also used Google, which identified the same error on a Q&A page on HP’s site. However, the response, from an HP engineer, suggested that the user ring HP to discuss the problem.
Does anyone know what is happening. The documentation is useless when it comes to decoding error messages, and the HP engineer gave no hint of things to check before calling.
Any help to resolve this issue will be appreciated.
