Installing OEM Win95 over Win 3.1

I have a friend who has a 486/66 which they would like to install Windows 95 on. The only copy of 95 version they have is for a CD for new computers only. Is there anyway to trick the CD into thinking it is a new computer? Another problem being Ican’t access the CD-ROM drive. I need to be able to load the CD-ROM driver without the CD knowing it is not a new computer.
