installing Win 95

While loading win 95, I received the error message: Your comp. doesn’t have a hard drive, your hard disk is not functioning correctly, or your hard disk requires a special device. I purchase a Gateway 133mhz P5 for setting up a network. however, I am having this problem. The harddrive is install correctly but when I try to boot the system the above error message comes up.
