Intel Boot agent conflict?

by ethernot . Updated 25 years, 9 months ago

I have a Compaq Deskpro ep/sb series computer.

When I turn on the power the first screen I get has the RAM in the top left and F10=setup in the bottom right.

It stays like this for about 45 – 50 sec. and then it boots up into W95.

This machine has 96mb of RAM, Celeron 300.

It also has an Intel pro/100+ Management adapter. When this machine finally boots up it boots up (a,cd,then HDD).

When I get this above mentioned first screen I press F10 and then “ctrl” – “s”. This allows me to go to the Intel setup program.
This program looks as follows:
Intel Pro/100 Boot agent ver.2 setup prog.
Boot Protocol: PXE
PnP/BEV Boot: disable
Default Boot: Local
Local Boot: Enable
Prompt Time: 2
setup message: disable

How can I get this machine to boot up without the looong delay? I am stumped.

Thank you Mark.
