Intellimouse Issue

I have about 3 Intellimice that have lost the roller wheel , all at once the wheel does not work I have deleted and reinstalled drivers and updated the latest from Microsoft and even went back to older drivers but the wheel does not work when you roll it, It does work when you click and the auto scroll activates, the O/s is 95/98 please HELP!
