Internet connection problem

Recently I can not connection to the internet. I have ADSL and Dial up. Everytime I try to connect, it tells me it can not find the DNS server. This happens with both Netscape and Explorer.

I have spoke to a few people and they say it is virus, yet norton does not find any viruses.
