Internet Explorer

When I’m using Internet Explorer and I click on another Web Site it brings up Netscape as the default browser. I have two questions!
How can I bring up another copy of IE instead of Netscape and if I use Netscape to read my mail in conjunction withIE will it cause any system problems.
