internet explorer 5 error

I am using windows 2000
when i start my internet explorer a messsage appears
“Explorer.exe has generatated errors and will be closed down by windows. You will need to retart the process
An error log is being created”

I am unable to find error log
I have repaired windows through installation but in vain
I want to uninstall internet explorer and reinstall it
as without uninstalling it the reintalltion of explorer didn’t work
please tell me how to uninstall internet explorer
