Internet Explorer Connection

by g-spin . Updated 24 years, 2 months ago

I’m not sure where I was supposed to post this, so I ended up here. Anyway, I manage a network of 150+ systems. Of these systems, one of them just decided it did not want to connect to the internet anymore through IE (the rest work perfect). Email seems to be working fine on the system, but everytime I try to connect to a website it searches for a while and then pops up the DNS error. I’ve tried just about everything possible, I checked that the DNS servers and router worked, and pinged them. Imade sure DNS was set both through DHCP, AND then set manually as well. I released and renewed the IP several times. I checked the HOSTS and LMHOSTS file (just to be sure). I did a tracert, and it died right after it jumped the router. Finally I bashed my head off the wall. (that didn’t work either) The system is running NT 4, with an upgraded IE 6. (I did that too) Any ideas?

Update: As I was writing this, the system, after many hours, just decided to connect. Can somebody tell me what happened??
