Invalid page fault at kernel32.dll

Running win/98 with visoneer 8600 flatbed scanner.
when clicking on the open desktop of visioneer or dragging folder to any link, the page fault occurs. System locks and only option is to shut off power switch and reboot. Did uninstall and reinstall same problem.
