IP address equal gateway??

I come across a client with a strange TCP/IP setting. The IP address of the workstations is the same as the gateway of the workstations.
for example:
IP: 192.168.0.10
subnet: 255.255.0.0
gateway: 192.168.0.10

do anyone know why my client set like that?
