ISO Burning

How do I change the attribute of an ISO file from read only to archive so that I can install it. After downloading the a program It would blank out when attempting to open. Changing the attribute to an archive was not an option unless I burned andISO version, but than I would receive a warning message that the CD may not be readable if changing to an archive. Please help I am new to this.
